Learn and Thrive is a charity. We create accessible, evidence-based learning resources that give families and professionals the tools they need to teach vital life skills. These are built to support individuals with learning disabilities / SEND / ALN / ASN.
Within this, we offer two project:
Teach Me Too - early years project for ages 2-7
Learning for Life - RSE-based project for ages 8-25
By clicking on these links, you can learn more about each project, who they support, and what topics they cover.
Each project includes videos and printable resources which support learning at home, in the classroom, or in support groups. You can find out more about how it works here.
-
Signing up to our projects is totally free to anyone.
Access to the videos is also free.
Downloadable resources can be purchased as an addition to the videos. For Delivery Partners, they receive these for free. For Education Subscribers or Partners, a yearly subscription payment gets unlimited downloads of the resources for all staff members.
For families, we are committed to keeping everything free. Families can get a discount code (either for free or with a donation), that will give you 100% off any downloadable resources. You can learn more about this here.

For users in England, SEND or SEN will be a common term. Referring to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, this is used across government and curriculums in England to cover the individuals we support (plus many more).
We know that there is debate over the use of this term, and that it is not used across the UK or the rest of the world. Other terms include Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and Additional Support Needs (ASN).
SEND is a term we will use, because of it’s use in government guidance, however it might include diagnoses that our work isn’t built for or would find useful - for example, Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), ADHD, dyslexia, or hearing loss.
We can be more specific about who our resources are designed to support. They are primarily individuals with:
Down’s syndrome
Autism / ASD
Moderate learning disability
Global Developmental Delay (GDD)
Or a combination of these. We have a page where you can learn more about other needs our resources may be useful for.
We do specify the different between ‘learning disability’ and ‘learning difficulty’. Learning difficulties often include diagnoses like dyslexia or ADHD, which we do not claim to support.
There is no eligibility criteria to use our content, so please get in touch if you’d like to chat more about it, or simply sign up and have a look.

For each series we make, we bring in the experts to help write the scripts. Their expertise of the topic at hand, coupled with our experience working with individuals with Down’s syndrome and other learning disabilities, means we bring together the learning they require in a way that is accessible to them.
It enables educators and families to use our content, regardless of their own confidence and ability in teaching on these areas. As the ‘teacher’ in the setting, your ability to understand the learner is what’s crucial. You can personalise and nuance the learning to them, based on their personal experiences (their home life, their friendships) and their learning styles and needs.
We make this happen through:
Video-based learning - the experts themselves feature in the videos and do the activities, to guide you through the session
Representation - videos include members of the learning disability community, so learners see themselves reflected on screen
Bright and bold - our printable resources and videos are made to be easy to read and see, particularly for those with visual acuity difficulties
Supportive content - for educators and families, we’ve created session plans, success criteria sheets, and notes to make preparing for and doing sessions easy
Repetition - the same key concepts (safe adults, public/private, etc) come up again and again, so learning is repeated often
-
You’ll need to sign up to access the videos. This is completely free.
Start by signing up to one project (you can do the other if you need to after).
Visit the sign up page: for Teach Me Too or for Learning for Life
Complete the form and hit submit
Wait to be taken to the member page - there will be instructions on how to input your email and password to create your account
And you’re done!
If you need some additional guidance, head over to our ‘How to Use the Website’ video (at the top of the page), where you can see how to get access - step-by-step.
-
We’re just the makers - we need educators to deliver our content to our community.
So we work with partners to support them to use the projects in sessions - whether in schools or in support groups.
For local charities and support groups, we provide all of the content for free (parents can get it free too!).
We will work with you to implement the project in your sessions, help you make improvements, and take on your feedback to make future series better.
Education Partnerships and Subscriptions
For schools, colleges, and statutory bodies, we have subscriptions available which enable all staff members to get an unlimited number of resources downloads for the subscription period.
This means easy, flexible access whenever it works for your staff, with huge savings involved too.
-
As a charity, we rely on grants and donations to continue our work. We are grateful to be supported by grant funders to make each new series happen, and others who support our day-to-day running costs.
The cost of our Education Subscriptions ensures we can keep our resources free to families, as charity funding gets increasingly challenging.
We are a small team of dedicated employees and trustees, but we are always looking for more supporters to help our cause. You can run fundraising events, or simply donate, by viewing the ‘SUPPORT US’ dropdown in your header menu.
