Join the REST-ID Study to support understanding of sleep in adolescents with intellectual disabilities
On behalf of Aston University, we are advertising the opportunity to take part in a new study on sleep for teenagers with intellectual disabilities. Below you will find their invite to take part, including the renumeration for your time and all eligibility criteria.
Introduction
You are invited to take part in the REST-ID Study (Reporting Experiences of Sleep in Teens with Intellectual Disabilities).
As part of the REST-ID study, the team will be conducting focus groups with caregivers to understand their priorities for sleep questionnaires and other tools which help adolescents to report on their own sleep. Future stages of the study will include adolescents themselves.
The focus group will involve a two-hour discussion with Miriam Shabetai from Aston University and up to five other caregivers. Focus groups will take place online via Microsoft Teams or in-person at Aston University, Birmingham.
Eligibility Criteria
We would like to invite you if you meet the following criteria:
Your child(ren):
Are aged 12-18 years old
Live in the UK
Have a diagnosis of mild-moderate intellectual disability
Have a caregiver-defined sleep problem
You the caregiver:
Are aged 18 years old or older.
Live in the UK
Are able to provide informed consent, complete questionnaires, and a focus group in English
Care for an adolescent who meets the above inclusion criteria
