Sharing the Power of Free Resources: Our Highlights from the Tes SEND Show

Picture this: an exhilarating two days at the TES SEND Show, where we, the Learn and Thrive team, attended our first conference. The experience was incredibly insightful, offering us the chance to connect with school leaders, teachers, SENCOs, and parents, all passionate about special educational needs and supporting their learners.

Our time at the conference helped us promote our projects and get feedback from those who already use them or would like to! So, here’s a quick round-up of what we learnt.

Revolutionising SEN Education with Free Resources

We know the value of accessible, high-quality resources. At the conference, we got to see first-hand the positive reactions to the quality of our resources and their potential for a wide range of learners. There were a few very proud moments when people came up to tell us about their success using the videos, or heard about us, and nipped off to get their colleagues so they could hear too. A massive thank you to all those people who took the time to learn more about us, tell us their experiences and share their own personal journeys.

The Power of 'Free': Everybody Loves a Bargain!

One resounding truth echoed through the event – the appreciation for free resources. We understand the financial challenges in the education sector, and we're proud to offer free resources, thanks to our main sponsor, QCS. We heard from lots of attendees about how much free, high-quality resources will benefit their learners by freeing up their time and their budgets in planning individualised sessions.

Time-Saving Solutions: How Can We Help?

While we remain committed to offering free resources, we heard teachers and parents loud and clear – time is precious. Many people asked if we could provide ready-made resource packs to save this invaluable time. What do you think? Would you prefer to have the option to buy the hard copies as well as the free downloads? Click the button below so we can see if this is something our users want!

Coming Soon: The Puberty Series!

It's on its way, we promise! Everyone's eagerly anticipating our upcoming series, 'The Changing Adolescent Body.' We're a small but dedicated team, and we want to ensure the highest quality for our users. If you could support us in doing so, it would make a huge difference – your contributions matter.

Beyond Down's Syndrome

Although our resources were designed with the learning profile of children and young people with Down's syndrome in mind, we discovered that they are incredibly versatile. Thank you to all those people who shared their stories of how our materials do and can benefit learners with diverse additional needs. We had some incredible discussions around the Learning for Life project and how the focus on social skills and keeping safe could be beneficial across the board.
