Joann Moore

Joann Moore brings more than 30 years of experience in education, SEND, inclusion, leadership, and school improvement. She is currently Head of Service for the Specialist Inclusion Team and Head of the Early Years SEND Team in Barnet, where she leads services that support children, young people, families, and schools to achieve positive outcomes through inclusive and strengths-based practice.

Passionate about ensuring every child can thrive, Joann has led strategic developments at school, local authority and national levels, championing inclusion, family partnership, early intervention, and high-quality specialist support. Her work is grounded in the belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard and valued, and that with the right opportunities, all young people can achieve their potential.

Alongside her professional experience, Joann brings a deeply personal commitment to her trustee role. As a mum, she has always championed the message to "be the best you can be". Working alongside children and young people with Down syndrome throughout her career has taught her some of life's most important lessons about resilience, determination, individuality, and the power of high expectations. These experiences continue to shape her outlook and fuel her commitment to helping support children and young people so they can flourish and belong to their school community.

As a Trustee of Learn and Thrive, Joann is proud to support the charity's mission of creating opportunities, building confidence, and enabling children and young people to reach their full potential.
