The Exploring Language series explores language and vocabulary from Teach Me Too’s Early Years curriculum videos (Mathematics, Literacy and Wider Curriculum). Whilst designed by a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist, these videos do not replace individualised speech therapy. Learning vocabulary is an area of strength for children with Down’s syndrome so it’s good to be ambitious about learning to understand, and use vocabulary.
Some of the Exploring Language videos include Makaton signs and symbols accredited by The Makaton Charity under a co-partnership agreement and the copyright remains that of ©The Makaton Charity 2024. The videos this is relevant to are signposted below.

This series was filmed as two separate projects. While we have continued to use the Makaton signing system, the new videos utilise the wonderful symbols from ©Widgit. This purposeful decision was made to make the videos accessible to those using the Widgit symbols in school, or those who want to create, print, share and translate symbol materials online.
