Join us for an unforgettable Dragon Boat Racing adventure at the picturesque Canbury Gardens, in the heart of Kingston upon Thames. This thrilling event promises excellent team-building opportunities for companies, clubs, and organisations, all while making a meaningful impact by supporting charity initiatives. Brilliant fun for family and friend groups, including those with Down’s syndrome.

The best part? No prior experience is necessary! Show up and you will be given all the information on the day.

All are welcome to take part, regardless of ability, disability, gender, or age (12 and up). Supporters of all ages are welcome too!

Each team consists of a minimum of 12 individuals (maximum 16), and a drummer (no musical skill required), and newcomers are warmly encouraged. We kindly ask that teams aim for 14 members, enabling us to include young people with Down’s syndrome (alongside their supporters if needed) in your boat. Let’s band together to support the Down’s syndrome community, and raise as much as possible!

Don’t want to commit to a full boat? No worries; boats will be available, for those who wish to sign up as individuals or in small groups.

To participate, we request a minimum commitment sponsorship of £100 per team member to ensure cost coverage of the event and fundraising success. If you are a family group or a person with Down’s syndrome, and you feel this isn’t achievable, please do get in touch. The most important thing is to see our community coming together on the day.

There is plenty of space for supporters to watch the races, with additional entertainment including children’s funfair rides, food vendors, and market stalls - it is going to be a fantastic day to be involved in!

Let your mind be at ease; the team at Kingston running the event are very experienced - it’s been running for over a decade. Each boat is manned by a trained helmsman, with a safety boat on standby throughout. There is nothing to worry about, so just get out there and have fun!
